8 Questions to an Entrepreneur : Kris Pinder

Questions to An Entrepreneur  for this week is Kris Pinder.

Kris is the co-owner of Supreme Klean along with his partner Darrell Stokes. Supreme Klean is a licensed and insured carpet cleaning company based in the Chicago, Illinois and it’s surrounding suburbs. The company has been in business for 8 years.  Kris and Darrell have expanded their business to meet the needs beyond cleaning carpet.  I invited Kris to be my entrepreneur this week because he made a powerful declaration to his mother 8 years ago. Kris was working at Home Depot and as an independent contractor with the Kirby Company.  His time at Home Depot ended and he was completely fed up with the rat race!  Kris took his Kirby, stirred up the courage to change his lifestyle and started cleaning carpet.  His mother thought Kris should supplement the income by taking a part-time job. Kris told his mother, “I will NEVER work for anyone else!” Guess what? He meant it! Here’s Kris answering  questions to an entrepreneur.

My Questions to an Entrepreneur : Kris Pinder

1. Give me the 411 on your company or what you do?
Supreme Klean is a licensed and insured carpet cleaning company, also cleaning upholstery, stripping and waxing of vinyl floors, pressure washing, and snow removal, all for commercial and residential.

2. There are probably a thousand people providing your products and/or services, how do you stand out in a crowd?
We stand out by providing personalized customer service, building relationships with the clients, and taking special care of clients’ investments.

3. What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you since you started?
The most exciting thing has been, the ability and experience to share with others who also desire entrepreneurship.

 4. What was your lowest point and how did you rise above it?
The lowest point was when the business encountered declining profits. We rose above it by creating a strategy of marketing  which allowed for increased clientele and profits.

 5. Tell me about your best product or service?
Our best service is carpet and upholstery cleaning!  We believe we have the ability to be“Magicians!”
 6. Do you still work a traditional job? If not, will you return? Why or why not?
No, I do not work a traditional job nor will I return. Due to the freedom of entrepreneurship, there is never an invisible financial roof over my head (meaning there will no longer be someone there making sure I don’t make more money than them).

 7. What are 5 things someone must do to be a successful entrepreneur?
  • Believe God can do it!
  • Block out the “nay” sayers!
  • Be willing to work harder at it than any other job you’ve had.
  • Be willing to chase down business and not wait for it to come to you.
  • Write down your plan. Once you do that, it then exists outside your mind and you can begin to build on something that is tangible!
8.  What encouragement would you give to someone wanting to start a business?
It may not be as hard as you think. The hardest part is making the decision to go into entrepreneurship. The most difficult decisions are the ones where we cannot see the end result, but that is what faith is all about; believing God and believing yourself. The rest will fall into place. I WILL SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
